From the teaching Yeshua's Disciple: Power

If you were looking for a job and saw a solicitation like the title of today’s blog, would you accept the position?  If you answered No, then the next question is why?  There may be some that would willingly accept it, but most of us would unequivocally decline.  I can only speak for myself, but as a Disciple of Yeshua, I do not desire to be a servant to sin or to die, but to serve the Creator and live with Him in eternity.  However; what is deceiving about this stance is that many professed followers of the Messiah are indeed trapped in servitude to sin.  Why?  Why do we struggle with things we know are against what YeHoVaH requires of us?  We live in a body of flesh that desires things that only feel good and this is a reason we must live everyday putting it in subjection to the will of the Father.  Even those of the world know that to deny the flesh and overcome through pain/discomfort results in growth.  This is just a universal principle.

YeHoVaH desires us to walk holy before Him for the purpose of being lights in a dark world that will point to Him.  Our purpose for denying our flesh is not simply to lose 10 pounds or to proudly wear muscle shirts at the gym, but because we love our Father.  We love Him and want to present to Him a dwelling that is clean and tidy so that He can commune with us.  I’m not trying to paint a picture of trying please the Almighty by trying to be perfect.  It’s not nor has it ever been about being perfect, it’s about having a heart and hands that are turned towards Him.  It’s about realizing that He is HOLY and will not dwell in the midst of sin.  He is immovable and when we PRACTICE sin, we move out of His presence.  Sin, as defined in 1 John 3:4, is a transgression of the law.  What law?  The law of Yeshua?  Well, Yeshua said that He speaks only what was given to him by the Father and that His commandment is life everlasting (John 12:49-50).  The Law was not eliminated or “fulfilled” in the sense that it was made obsolete when Yeshua was crucified and resurrected.  The law, in the Spirit of truth, is still binding to covenant members.

Understanding this is essential to knowing how to walk the path Yeshua re-established.  A path that was laid out long ago and instead of the Nation of Israel being a stationary light to the nations, the nation is commissioned to take that light to the four corners of the earth.  With the strength of the Holy Spirit empowering us to walk in righteousness we have been given an awesome gift.  Yeshua, who was given and has all power in heaven in earth (Matthew 28:18), also gave His disciples power to AND authority over all devils and to cure diseases!  Are you His disciple?  Do you love and walk in the ways of the Almighty?  Yes?  Then YOU have power and authority over all the works of the enemy!  The enemy has no authority over the sons and daughters of YeHoVaH.  If we are not seeing this manifest in our lives, then something is not right.  We are either on the payroll for the enemy or we are not walking in the power Yeshua bestowed on His followers; not taking hold of the authority.  Keep in mind that it is at the discretion of the Almighty who He will heal, bless, etc.; it is not for us to demand our own will to be done, but His.

We must, with the power of His Spirit, overcome fear or anything that hinders His will.  It’s so empowering to know that we have been given this authority in and by Yeshua to walk in power against all the wicked exploits of the enemy.  Let us take it, and use it, because the people of this world are in desperate need to see true followers of Messiah in action.  It may be a good time to audit our “sacred cows”, actions, and other beliefs that we harbor.  If we are bogged down being slaves to sin how can we be in a position to help anyone else?  How can YeHoVaH use us in this world to be that light?  A slave to sin guides onlookers to his/her master-sin.  Where are you directing those observing you?
