From the teaching An Evangelistic Community

March 13, 2017

If you all are familiar with House of Israel International then you are most likely well acquainted with its vision, which is to be:

1. A Worshipping People - John 4:23-24

2. An Evangelistic Community - Acts 2:42-47

3. A Discipleship Center - Matthew 28:19

4. An Equipping Network - Ephesians 4:12

5. A Worldwide Witness for Yeshua the Messiah - Acts 1:18

This week's message, presented by Sister Juliet, focused on being an Evangelistic Community and introduced us to the verses that inspired the second entry of the vision.  It's very interesting that she navigated through many different areas of the Bible to end up in Genesis going through the story of Isaac and Jacob (Israel) and his 12 sons.  It's such a blessing to be a part of the body where someone can bring to light a different perspective on things.  We may read over certain things that the Father has enlightened someone else on and that person then shares their revelation.  It highlights that there is always a reason for the details that can seem so insignificant to us.  The Almighty is detailed in His description of things for a reason, even if we can't appreciate it.  However, when we agree that we are called to be an evangelistic community and share the good news of the Gospel of the Kingdom, then it's important to know what this kingdom is, what it looks like, and the story of its foundation. After her teaching, I'm definitely going to spend more time going over the accounts she referenced and I look forward to seeing how the rest of this teaching progresses.

I loved history growing up and I still do, but I recognize that some people couldn't care less for a history lesson of any kind.  As Disciples of Yeshua however, it's important that we take the time to develop our understanding of this faith that we have.  Like I shared in a previous blog, I came to a point where I needed to understand my Christian faith and began exploring and researching beyond the Sunday School stories that encompassed my belief in that faith.  When I understood that many of the ideologies were formulated in the minds of philosophers and people with political agendas, I was turned off and Father got a hold of me and lead me to His Word and away from religion.  I am still, like everyone else I dare to say, on a journey of learning and growing,  but I don't desire to blindly go down this path like before.

I once saw a movie about Jesus made by a famous American news reporter and at the end of the movie it stated that Jesus founded a new religion called Christianity.  Well, when I read the Scriptures, it talks about a nation founded by YeHoVaH and He called it Israel.  He created the entire culture by which Israelites are to govern themselves.  If you were not born into that nation, you were allowed to become a naturalized citizen, so to speak, and have all the rights of the natural born citizen.  What did you have to do?  Agree to the covenant that Yehovah made with Israel.  Now I know there is so much more to understand about this narrative, but the people of Israel come and go yet His Kingdom and purpose for His Kingdom remains.  This nation was designed from the beginning to be an evangelistic community.  In 1 Peter 2:9 it quotes Exodus 19:6 and explains that we should show forth the praises of the Almighty that has called us out of darkness and into His light.  That nation/kingdom that was operational in the land of promise were supposed to evangelized the world around them by example.  Nations would look upon their status as blessed and favored by the mighty works YeHoVaH demonstrated and if they desired, became a part of Israel.  In light of the scatterings that took place after Yeshua, the nation that was to be governed within the land of promise by YeHoVaH's laws was sent forth to evangelize the nations from a different position on the field, but the Kingdom still exists.  It's just a different set of circumstances now, but not in the way doctrines of Christianity set forth.  We are grafted into His Kingdom, the Commonwealth of Israel and are to walk Holy before our Creator and the nations of the earth as an example.  We are to preach the good news that was also preached to them in the wilderness (Hebrews 4:2), but mix it with faith. So if we want to know what the King expects of his subjects, then search the instructions that the King gave and still gives.  What a beautiful thing it is to be His subject, submitting ourselves to His Spirit.  What a beautiful thing it is to be part of His Kingdom, the Commonwealth of Israel.  So I encourage you to continue to develop your understanding of His Kingdom as Sister Juliet resumes laying the groundwork for understanding this call to be an Evangelist Community.
